Founded in Rotterdam in 1984, the LBH Group, which now has more than 100 locations around the globe, has developed into one of the leading port agencies. The company has been part of the logistics specialist, Rhenus, and its global activities and not only supports shipping companies and charterers in all matters related to ship management in this role, but also takes on numerous control and quality assurance functions on behalf of and in the interests of cargo owners.
The merger with Rhenus automatically created benefits for both corporations – and for their clients: customers are also placing greater importance on reliability, transparency and integrity in their business partners, particularly when the global economy is going through uncertain times. These are values that the two global players, LBH and Rhenus, have epitomized for decades.
The global business activities of the two corporations also ensure an enormous amount of flexibility when handling transport operations. “With our strong focus on dry and liquid bulk commodities, we don’t depend on any individual countries or markets. There continues to be demand for transport services for goods like fertilizers or fossil fuels, from a global point of view – but the routes and destinations are naturally subject to fluctuations,” Jan Lagendijk explains during the podcast.
