The Rhenus Group realises regional and international rail transports in many European countries with its railway undertakings (RUs) and also as a pure rail forwarder - mainly with its own resources such as locomotives, freight wagons and operating personnel.

Rhenus mainly produces block train transports with its own operating resources and personnel, often across several national borders. In addition, we operate wagon groups and single wagon transports in several countries – both nationally and regionally. Operation of connecting railways (first and last mile) as well as the complete takeover of internal transports or adjacent logistics processes are also part of our range of services.

Consulting and concept

We develop innovative and individual logistics concepts for you which, in addition to the main rail leg, also cover pre-carriage and on-carriage by road and, if required, transshipment or warehousing services. You will be assigned a personal contact person who will take into account all general conditions and your special requirements.

We carry out regional, national or international rail freight transport for you.
For cross-border freight transport, the Rhenus Group trains are on the move as often as possible throughout and across borders – without time-consuming and cost-intensive locomotive changes.
24/7 dispatch service for all eventualities – diversions, line closures, bad weather: The dispatch service reacts immediately with alternatives – so your goods arrive safely and reliably.

First & Last Mile, Shunting Service

We also offer first & last mile services for reaching departure and destination stations away from the main routes – either from our own resources or from carefully selected cooperation partners.
Trains are formed by our own shunting personnel and wagon masters.
Rhenus freight trains on private tracks – of course, the goods trains of the Rhenus Group also run on private routes in order to keep delivery times as short as possible and save costs for overall operations.
