The Rhenus Group, a global leading logistics solutions provider, is celebrating the first anniversary of its delegation in Murcia this May. The company is reinforcing the region’s connectivity of export companies with Europe and the Canary Islands with new groupage services by road and sea, which have been tailored for companies in Murcia.
One year after the inauguration of its facilities in Molina de Segura, Rhenus is consolidating its commitment to the Region of Murcia. The logistics company's balance sheet and prospects are very positive, with a consolidated position in the region and new opportunities to offer logistics solutions adapted to the needs of Murcia's dynamic export economy.
The first area of action is to enhance land connections to Europe with the new Groupage Network 2.0 service. This will reduce transit times for European traffic and will provide one of Europe’s largest road freight transport networks to companies in Murcia.
"Exports from Murcia to EU countries continue to grow, with an increase of 3.7 percent by 2023, and already represent 61.7 percent of all foreign sales. Our aim is to provide these companies with a faster and more reliable groupage transport solution to link Murcia with any destination in Europe," explains Elvira Segur, Manager of Rhenus Murcia and Alicante.
In addition, the delegation of Murcia has launched a maritime groupage service with the Canary Islands, offering a direct link from the port of Alicante to the archipelago, with the best transit times on the market. Companies will be able to take advantage of the Rhenus Group’s own structure, both at origin and destination, its specialisation in customs procedures, as well as the wide range of transport services with which the group has been guaranteeing connections between the mainland and each of the islands for 42 years.
