Rhenus Warehousing Solutions has announced the signing of an agreement to manage the logistics operations of SMA Ibérica in Spain, Portugal and Andorra. Through this cooperation, the subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology, a leading global specialist in systems technology for photovoltaic applications, is provided with a reliable logistics partner, with extensive experience and a unique value proposition in the renewable energy sector.
From its main warehouse in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), the warehouse specialist will manage a comprehensive range of references and materials critical to SMA's operations. These services include receiving, locating and storing materials from the factory in Niestetal (Germany), preparing orders for technicians, installers and end customers, and managing transportation within the agreed deadlines.
Rhenus will also manage reverse logistics, consolidation and transport to repair or destruction facilities. The integration of EDI-standard information systems is also a key component, enabling the efficient linking of the Rhenus Blue Yonder warehouse management system (WMS) with SMA's SAP system. This seamless integration ensures smooth coordination and communication across all logistics processes, certifying precise delivery times and maximum efficiency at every stage.
