Dr Marco Schröter was appointed as Chairman of the Supervisory Board for the Rhenus Group on 14 December 2017. The experienced economic expert has spent many years gaining experience at renowned industrial and logistics companies. He follows in the footsteps of Reinhard Lohmann, who has left the Supervisory Board, having reached the age limit for members.
Reinhard Lohmann had been active on the Rhenus Supervisory Board since 1998 – i.e. from the time when the RETHMANN Group took over Rhenus. Reinhard Lohmann initially worked as the Commercial Manager at the RETHMANN Group, then as its CFO and later as Chairman of the Board. Following his departure from the Management Board, he moved to the Group’s Supervisory Board. He led the supervisory boards of the three divisional companies, Rhenus, REMONDIS and SARIS, as chairman for many years. “In the name of the shareholders’ family, we would like to thank him for his extraordinary involvement. He has had a lasting impact on the company’s development through his strategic far-sightedness. His constructive advice has played a part in ensuring that Rhenus and the entire Group are enjoying dynamic growth at this time and have been able to develop a global presence,” said Dr Martin Rethmann, Chairman of the RETHMANN Group’s Supervisory Board.
Reinhard Lohmann’s successor is Dr Marco Schröter. He has been a member of the Supervisory Board at Rhenus since the beginning of 2017 and has now been appointed as its Chairman. Dr Marco Schröter was able to gain extensive experience in the international logistics business as a long-standing member of the board at Schenker AG. The 54-year-old most recently supported the Solera Holdings company as its Business Transformation & Integration Officer.
Dr. Marco Schröter previously worked as CFO for Nokia Siemens Networks and was a member of the board there – and he was the Labour Director for Infineon Technologies AG. The economist, who has a Ph.D., also spent part of his career working in various positions at Stinnes AG.
The Supervisory Board at Rhenus consists of three members. The Deputy Chairman is Dr Martin Rethmann and Georg Rethmann completes the group.
