Rhenus Road Freight opened its newly constructed logistics site in Nuremberg at the end of June. Rhenus Road Freight Manager, Nenad Lukic, (CEO Road Freight Germany), Ruben Ruiz (CEO Overland Transport), Damir Dominkovic (Branch Manager Nuremberg), Thilo Meutzner (Managing Director, Road Freight Germany), Jan-Dirk Groenewold (Managing Director, Road Freight Germany) and Thilo Streck (CEO BU Road Freight) (from left to right) formally cut the ribbon at the inaugural ceremony and opened the doors to the new logistics facility in the port area for customers and partners.
The new logistics building extends over an area measuring 4,500 square metres and offers space for more than 5,000 pallets in a high-shelf facility. Useful capacity has also been created for the Transport Related Warehousing (TRW) fulfilment solution. This provides space for various picking activities, including those for products from the sports clothing segment, which is a specialist field at the business site. With a strong focus on security, the facility is equipped with the latest camera monitoring system, which makes it possible to seamlessly track consignments. The business site with its storage areas, which can be clearly defined, and extensive alarm systems offers many benefits, particularly for customers with high-value goods. Substances that pose a risk to water supplies can also be safely stored at the new logistics facility.
