Rhenus’ commitment to the development and promotion of its business in Irún is in response to the significant growth in volume and operating activity of the company in recent years.
Expanding in Irún will improve Rhenus’ operations in the Basque Country, adding to the services it currently provides in Guipúzcoa through Langarri Logistica, which it acquired two years ago. This has several branches that cover the entire Basque Country, as well as in Navarre, La Rioja and Cantabria, and even the southwest of France.
“This expansion has been a great boost for us in the Basque Country; while Langarri's contribution to this development has been especially important. All this is a sign of the increased confidence that our customers are showing us on a daily basis as their trusted partner for their logistics and transport needs," says Andoni Izquierdo, member of the Rhenus Road Iberia Management Committee.
Irún, and ultimately the entire Basque Country, is a strategic area for Rhenus in the north of the Iberian Peninsula, and also for its proximity to France. The location provides direct connections both nationally and internationally to all the main economic centres. Rhenus’ platform at Irún is the largest in the entire north area, and acts as a reference hub for the whole Iberian Peninsula.
