With an autonomous solar-operated tugger train

The vision: The goods are transported from the depot via rails to a suburban micro-depot. A solar-operated tugger train takes deliveries from here on the road to the customers.

Rhenus is already testing the benefits of solar energy in its vehicle fleet in the Home Delivery segment. Since June 2022, the last mile specialist has been using a test vehicle to measure the extent to which solar cells on the vehicle surface can increase the operating distance of 15-ton trucks.
