Once the takeover has come into effect, the Rhenus Group will employ an
additional 1,500 people in its automotive division. Ferrostaal Automotive has
particularly gained experience in providing solutions for pre-assembly work in the
past and it operates in markets where Rhenus has not yet been involved.
Michael Brockhaus, a member of the Rhenus Group’s Management Board, gave
the reasons for the acquisition. “Ferrostaal Automotive complements our market
presence in the automobile sector. Together, we can meet the growing demand on
the part of our customers for complex pre-assembly work. As a result, the Rhenus
Group is able to offer the complete value-added chain ranging from pre-carriage to
logistics and assembly work and even shipping completed cars for the European
automobile sector.”
“We’re delighted to have found a strongly growing partner for Ferrostaal
Automotive in Rhenus Automotive. The medium-sized business culture fostered
by us will fit into the Rhenus family business well,” says Joachim Ludwig,
Managing Director of Ferrostaal GmbH, underlining the importance of the
development.
After the conclusion of the integration phase, which aims to continue and further
develop the core skills of each partner, the Rhenus Automotive business unit is
planning to generate further growth through its enhanced market presence and
the spread of its customer base. Rhenus particularly believes that the expertise of
its current and future employees will create the necessary basis for this.
